THE GREEN FOUNDATION

The Green Foundation, Head Quartered at Kwakeithel Thiyam Leikai, Imphal is a social enterprise (Non-profit organization) dedicated exclusively for the welfare and support for the needful poor farmers in Manipur, one of the state in the North-East India. Established in the odd dated day of May 1st, 1992, the Foundation has become a pioneer in the State for expounding and imparting complimentary technical knowledge by carrying out practical demonstration in the fields with the help of our experienced professionals and volunteers explaining about the usefulness and efficacy of ORGANIC FARMING to more than 3500 registered farmers. The Foundation was born from the passionate belief in professional solutions to solve the inadequacy of food supplies in the state when there were frequent economic blockades in the state during the 90’s. It was founded with the urge and aspiration to attain the state’s self-sustainability and reliability on its own resources.It has been working in the principle of sustainable development through co-existence, peace and prosperity. The sole objective of the foundation is the attainment of progress of humanity and compassion by giving decent provisions and opportunities among the peoples depending upon their desperate needs and situations. We have been working for facilitating our farmers and to bring harmony between modern materialism and spiritualism; to propagate Universal brotherhood and global thinking and its application at the local level for fulfilling our responsibilities towards the community, the nation and the human mankind. Now, we are working under the umbrella tagline, “Let’s Go Organic”.

What we do?

Agriculture

    Facilitated for Organic certification of 533 hectare of land involving 1500 farmers as a Service provider of Organic farming under the NCOF, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India.
    Facilitating 3000 farmers in Manipur as Service Provider of Organic farming un “Mission Organic value Chain Development for NER”

Livelihood

    Facilitated over 300 poor people have access to micro finance, mobilised SHGs and built their capacity.
    Facilitated 85 people in initiation of micro enterprises such as handloom, handicraft, shops, vegetable vendors, agro enterprises, etc. with technical and financial support from the Foundation.
    Facilitated 500 poor men and women have access life-insurance coverage under LIC of India.

    Data collection, entry, processing, analysis and reporting; developing methods, conducting baseline, FGD, evaluatory assessment.
